New teaching facilities for schools and colleges can be configured to meet the client’s brief in a variety of architectural styles, and assembled as learning clusters or as a single stand alone classroom either for permanent or temporary use.

Classrooms (C24)

Completed: simple stand-alone five-classroom, two storey building 460 m²

This independent five-classroom, two-storey building is located adjacent to the main school. Assembled from flat-pack elements, it was completed with minimal disruption to the children, staff and parents.

It provides 460 sq metres of accommodation which consists of three 62 m² classrooms on the ground floor, a fully equipped art studio with storage room, a large classroom, two tutorial rooms and toilets on the first floor.

The project was handed over within twenty weeks and erected by the delivery system integrators, a team of four with an additional electrician and a plumbing and heating engineer delivering the  mechanical and electrical installation, and a decorating team, aided by one forklift on an ad-hoc basis. Without the continuous use of plant, the normal noise and dust pollution that is present with a traditional construction was virtually eliminated creating a safe environment allowing the school to operate unhindered.

The building was erected towards the end of 2014/15 during the wettest period ever recorded in the UK.

The exterior has been clad in a composite cladding system to provide minimum maintenance.

Site waste was kept to a minimum in comparison to traditional build methods and up until the finishing’s element of the final fit-out just three skips had been used.

Using this offsite solution allowed predictability in programming and a guaranteed quality to achieve the “right first-time” philosophy, resulting in minimal snagging.

Sure Start Nursery Centre

Sure Start Nursery is aimed at “giving children the best possible start in life” through improvement of childcare, early education, health and family support, with an emphasis on outreach and community development.

The single-storey, stand-alone classroom nursery centre measures 16.5 meters long by 12.5 meters wide and floor area 221 m² .

Facilities includes, underfloor heating, changing room, disabled toilets, training rooms, teaching rooms, fully functional kitchen, plant room, additional storage and buggy room.
